Let the games begin! Cheer on Great Britain TONIGHT and this weekend at the Winter Olympic Ice Hockey qualifiers! Just joined by Nottingham lad Robert Lachowicz in an unexpected turn of events, they will be battling alongside Hungary, Estonia and Romania. The winners will advance to the final qualifying round for the Winter Olympics. You really don't want to miss this!

Following last year’s debut of Citizens of Nowhere? by Ming Ho, Chinese Arts Now are back with this enthralling audio drama. This innovative work lets you eavesdrop with headphones on the actors seated at a table nearby, breaking down the barrier between the audience and the performers. Reflecting on belonging and identity, the cast explore what it means to be British and Chinese at a time of political and cultural upheaval. Includes light refreshments.

Why not kick off the day with a visit to the Light Night Market on Smithy Row, followed by a spot of grub at any one of the food outlets with a voucher in our handy guide. Then pop over to have a go at some Bicycle Spin Art at 4pm on King Street, followed by a gawp at the giant art installation on the Council House at 6pm. Patrick Ness’s piercing novel A Monster Calls is vividly brought to life, offering a dazzling insight into love, life and healing. This truthful, hopeful and human story is beautifully told by a large ensemble cast alongside an original musical score performed live on stage.
