Fellow Conservative,

House Republicans are demonstrating just how much can be done when the party unites, and rallies around conservative policies that will benefit the people of this country. First, the House passed the Limit, Save, Grow Act, a solution to avoid a default on the national debt that actually cuts spending and institutes pro-growth economic reforms.

This week, House Republicans have delivered a second major win for the American people—passing a historic border security package to build the wall and close loopholes that Biden is using to keep our borders open.

PASSED: Secure the Border Act (H.R. 2)

Since the first border security coalition letter Heritage Action signed and sent to Capitol Hill in May 2022 , the grassroots have deployed constant and firm pressure for their representatives to put forth a plan that would end the crises occurring on our southern border.

On Wednesday, Jessica Anderson, Executive Director of Heritage Action published an op-ed in the Daily Caller outlining how House Republicans Have A Cure For Biden’s Border Madness. She detailed:

With consideration of H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, slated for this week, House Republicans are taking the right steps to end the self-imposed crisis. This long-awaited flagship package represents the strongest border security and enforcement legislation put forth to date…

For over a year, the grassroots made their demands known, and the House was compelled to act. The Secure the Border Act (H.R.2) passed the House of Representatives on Thursday afternoon with a vote of 219-213.

Heritage Action’s border security toolkit outlines the policy solutions in the bill, including:

• Reviving the “Remain in Mexico” policy

Update: Limit, Save, Grow Act

Americans understand that debt and spending are two sides of the same coin. Just over two weeks ago House Republicans passed what remains the ONLY plan to address the debt ceiling and Washington’s spending addiction. That’s why any plan that raises the debt ceiling without cutting spending is simply not an option.

Heritage Action’s toolkit on the Limit, Save, Grow Act outlines the policy solutions to address both the national debt and cutting spending. This bill should immediately be taken up on the floor of the Senate for a vote.

On Tuesday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy had a meeting at the White House with President Biden, House Minority Leader Jeffries, Senate Majority Leader Schumer, and Senate Minority Leader McConnell to kick off discussions about restoring the fiscal sanity that the country desperately needs. Discussions and negotiations continued throughout the week and are still ongoing—Democrats are currently unwilling to support the only solution that has actually been put to a vote, the Limit, Save, Grow Act. Biden’s position is that we should raise the debt ceiling and not cut a penny of spending.

More Wins at the State Level

Indiana—The People’s Republic of China (PRC), led and controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) poses the greatest existential threat facing the United States.

This week, Indiana enacted both SB 477 and SB 268. SB 477 will buffer the state against the CCP by preventing China from acquiring land near sensitive military facilities and requiring adequate defenses in government and military software to deny the CCP backdoor access.

SB 268 will prevent Hoosier retirement funds from financially risky investments that would undermine our national security and enable China’s technological development and military modernization. States should follow suit to protect their citizens from China’s predations.

Missouri - Missouri’s General Assembly has passed SB 49 and SB 39 - two bills that will protect the upbringing of young boys and girls. Kids are not experiments. Subjecting children suffering from gender confusion to surgeries that cannot be undone, and experimental hormone treatments is neither compassionate, nor scientifically sound. SB 49 will ban any such procedures from occurring within the state of Missouri.

SB 39 takes additional steps by protecting the integrity of athletic programs by making it law for athletes to be able to participate only on the sports teams that correspond with their sex.

There are too many examples of women who have lost championships, scholarships, opportunities, and the feeling of safety to men who have no business competing against women. Decisive action is needed, and the legislature took it. We look forward to Governor Parson’s signature.

Before You Go...

There are just 2 days left to oppose Biden’s rewriting of Title IX. For decades Title IX protected the opportunities of women in education and extracurricular endeavors such as sports. But Biden’s Department of Education has proposed to rewrite Title IX so that “[S]chools would not be permitted to adopt or apply a one-size-fits-all policy that categorically bans transgender students from participating on teams consistent with their gender identity.”

Before the rule can take effect, every substantive and unique comment must receive a written response. With enough pressure, the DoE will fail to implement the rule altogether. Add your name to the growing lists of activists standing up for female athletes.
