On Tuesday, I joined my House colleague Rep. Robin Kelly (D-IL-02) and Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) in leading a letter with over 90 of our Congressional colleagues to urge the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to implement federal rules to help close the gun seller background check loophole. You can read the full letter here.
Wednesday night, I took to the floor of the House to share my thoughts on the continued tragedies this nation is witnessing due to gun violence. We are not powerless to act. My colleagues must summon the courage to join me and pass common sense gun violence prevention legislation--solutions that the majority of the American people already support.
