Green MP Caroline Lucas brilliantly challenged the Prime Minister in the House of Commons this week.

How could he look his daughter and other young people in the eye if he does not block the massive new Rosebank oil field ? she asked.

Not only will it increase carbon emissions and wreck climate targets, it will cost the taxpayer an obscene four billion pounds.

Caroline's bold intervention made headlines but it will not be easy to halt the development of Rosebank and other new oil and gas fields, given the power and connections of the fossil fuel industry.
