Urgent Petition: Tell Indicted Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to Stand Up for LGBTQ+ Rights! Friends, Our Texas Attorney General -- who himself is criminally indicted -- is refusing to defend a state agency that is being sued for disciplining a judge who refuses to officiate same-sex marriages. Same-sex marriage is legal, and any elected or appointed official refusing LGBTQ+ couples the right to marry is breaking the law. As someone who served under “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” I honored my oath to serve our country. It’s sad to see public officials like our indicted Attorney General and this rogue judge unwilling to honor theirs. Will you sign my petition to DEMAND our indicted Attorney General do his job and defend our rights? The Attorney General declined to defend the commission on behalf of clerks’ and judges’ religious freedom. But what about the freedom of all Texans to be treated equally under the law? We deserve public officials who work for ALL people, not just the ones who agree with them. I urgently need signatures on this petition. Help me show our indicted Attorney General that Texans are united, from our faith communities to our LGBTQ+ allies, in demanding that he disciplines judges who break the law.
