Team – when Attorney General Eric Holder appeared on All in with Chris Hayes on MSNBC, he had a clear message about what we must do to combat the ongoing threat of GOP extremism.

“Democracy is at risk”

He’s right! Across the country, we’re seeing escalated attacks on our democratic institutions as Republicans restrict voting rights, force through gerrymandered maps, undermine our system of checks and balances, and more.

We’ll be blunt, team: The future of free and fair elections in our country depends on how we respond to this ongoing threat. A.G. Holder put it perfectly:

“We have to win elections . . . people have to be engaged, and progressives and Democrats have to play the long game – this is not something that can be episodic.

If we want to have democracy, we have to do democracy.”

He’s right about that, too. For years, Republicans have used anti-democratic tactics to horde unearned power and undermine the will of the voters. To defeat them and deliver power back to the people, those of us who believe in democracy must be prepared to stay in this fight for the long haul – no matter how long it takes.

The NDRC is 100% committed to continuing our fight for fairness nationwide. Will you help us do democracy by making a donation of any amount today?
