Secure the Border Act Passes the House

Video

Watch my remarks on the Floor in favor of H.R. 2.

This week, Title 42 expired and we are witnessing even more chaos unfolding at our southern border. Many border cities in Texas have declared state of emergencies as thousands of migrants come across our border while this administration continues to do nothing.

On Thursday, I voted in favor of H.R. 2, Secure the Border Act of 2023, as it passed the House as the strongest border security bill in history. My team has been working endlessly to secure our border from hosting border tours to educating other members, to working with the Texas delegation to develop the Texas border plan, and to working this week to ensure we’d have the votes to pass this bill. Now, we have passed the strongest border bill that our country has ever seen.

We have given the Administration all the tools they need to do their job, and they have actively worked to find every loophole to do just the opposite. H.R. 2 is a step in the right direction as it closes many of these loopholes.

This bill would force the Biden Administration to restart construction of the border wall and deploy additional technology to help secure the Southern border. The bill will also increase the number of Border Patrol agents and provide bonus pay and require transparency regarding illegal crossings from the Department of Homeland Security. It will also strengthen current law to protect unaccompanied children from human trafficking. Also, it will end catch and release, end abuse of executive immigration authority and strengthen and streamline the asylum process.

Now, it is critical for the Senate to pass this bill as it will help us secure this border and disincentive this administration’s open border system. Instead of playing the blame game, I encourage this administration to sign this bill into law, so we can fix the chaos that’s occurring at our border. It is time for Biden and Mayorkas to stop ducking responsibility and enforce our immigration laws.

Fighting For Our Daughters

This week, I sent a letter to Secretary Miguel Cardona expressing my strong opposition to the Department of Education’s proposed rule change to Title IX. This rule would require schools to allow biological males to participate in girls’ sports.

This rule is a dangerous overstep by this administration and violates the purpose and intent of Title IX, which was designed to protect and encourage women’s participation in sports.

The consequences of this rule would be detrimental for women and girls, as they would be forced to compete with biological males. This rule would not only jeopardize women’s athletic opportunities but also their scholarship and academic opportunities — and yes, put biological males in the locker room with our daughters.

This proposed Title IX rule by the Department of Education will be open for public comment for 30 days. While I continue to fight this egregious overstep in Washington D.C., your voice is also important in standing to protect our daughters. Use this link to have your voice heard.

Fauci Files: Episode VII — Natural Immunity or the Vaccine?

Video

Watch my remarks at the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic Hearing.

This week, the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic held a hearing to investigate why this administration did not implement public health policy surrounding natural immunity.

Dr. Fauci and the Biden administration told all Americans to take the vaccine and even mandated it without consideration for individuals that already had antibodies from prior COVID-19 exposure. Instead of addressing these facts, the Biden administration issued vaccine passports and became the coercive arm of the state to compel Americans to get the experimental vaccine.

As if the shutdowns were not hard enough, many Americans were fired from their jobs for refusing to get the vaccine. This is troubling because there was little evidence that the COVID-19 vaccines were living up to the claims of keeping people from getting COVID or stopping transmission.  Yet the messages from this administration continued to ignore science and the available data to promote disinformation and marginalize medical experts who would present opposing views.

The blatant disregard for natural immunity and science in general is unacceptable. No American should have their freedom infringed upon based on their personal healthcare choices, natural immunity, vaccines, or otherwise.
