John,
It's been more than 2 years since Cori first entered the halls of the People's House. Despite this short amount of time, we've done a lot and have so much more to do.
Today, we wanted to provide you with a brief recap of some of our movement's accomplishments but before we continue: Can you pitch in $5 today so that our movement has the resources it needs to build on past achievements?
From public safety to environmental justice to conducting oversight and securing federal funds, every vote and every committee hearing has been made and attended with the intention of centering St. Louis in the important work we do every day.
With your support, here's some of what we've been able to accomplish:
✅ Passed 25 pieces of legislation in the House.
✅ Had two amendments signed into law.
✅ Led and co-led 20 bills and filed nearly 30 amendments.
✅ Added guardrails to help pass the Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act — a necessary step aimed to address white supremacy.
✅ Partnered with Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Jason Crow on legislation to address our reliance on fossil fuels, address the energy crisis, and prioritize efficiency, electric transportation and renewable energy.
✅ Introduced the Insulin for All Act which would cap the price of insulin at $20 per vial.
✅ Secured more than $1 billion of direct funding for the District through the American Rescue Plan.
These are unprecedented achievements for MO-01 that we can all take pride in.
It's clear that campaigning on a people-first agenda is a winning one. But there's still a lot more work ahead of us to protect Black lives, legislate for working families, and pass the bold transformative policies our communities urgently need.
We're beyond happy to have you with us in this fight, and are grateful for your continued support for Cori and her work. But Republican super PACs and corporate interests are hellbent on reversing all of the progress our grassroots movement has made in this short amount of time.
We won't let them — but we need your help.
In solidarity,
Cori Bush HQ
