Dear Community Partner,

With interest rates rising and the cost of goods outpacing wages, many consumers are finding it harder to keep up with their credit card, auto loan and mortgage payments. As a result, these consumers may see bankruptcy as a lifeline, or even their only option. However, there is a downside to filing for bankruptcy, and there are alternatives consumers should consider before making a decision to file.

Join Consumer Action for a train-the-trainer webinar on getting a handle on debt and understanding debt resolution versus bankruptcy. This free 90-minute training will focus on debt relief strategies consumers can use to tackle their bills and reduce their financial stress, without filing for bankruptcy. The webinar will also explore the advantages and disadvantages of these debt relief strategies and the success rate for each.

Sean Fox, chief revenue officer and president of debt resolution at Achieve, a digital personal finance company offering financial and debt solutions, and Frederic Huynh, vice president of data optimization, also at Achieve, will headline the June 13 webinar.

This webinar will answer these questions:

Credit counseling: What are the benefits, and when should I seek help?
Debt consolidation: How does it work, and when is it a smart move?
Debt resolution: What is it, and how does it differ from debt settlement?
Is there a difference between debt consolidation and debt resolution?
Will debt consolidation or debt resolution impact my credit? If so, how?
When is bankruptcy a good option?

AFC professionals can earn 1.5 CEUs for participation in this free 90-minute webinar.
