Dear Kansas friends,

Thank you for your interest in receiving my newsletter. Please feel free to share this with your friends and family.
House Oversight Biden Investigation
We now know that the Biden family received millions of dollars in payments linked to foreign nationals—including Communist China.

What did these foreign actors get in return for their investment?

I joined my colleagues on the Oversight Committee to outline our efforts to uncover the truth and protect our national security.

Expiration of Title 42
Title 42 expired — paving the way for a new influx of illegal immigration.
The time for action is now. House Republicans just passed a bill to deliver on our commitment to secure the southern border.

Here are my thoughts, watch HERE
House Republicans’ plan to secure the border will end catch-and-release, enforce Remain in Mexico, finish the border wall, and combat drug and human trafficking.

What's Secretary Mayorkas and President Biden's plan? Mass-release illegal immigrants into our communities.

60,000 migrants are waiting to cross our southern border illegally now that Title 42 has expired.

Yesterday 213 House Democrats voted against providing more resources to our Border Patrol agents.
Republicans brought a bill to the House Floor to secure the border:

• Restart construction of the border wall
• End catch & release
• Strengthen Border Patrol
• Combat drug trafficking
• Provide Title 42-like authority

Border security = national security.

Topeka Student Wins Congressional Art Contest
Congressman Jake LaTurner announced that Overbrook native and Cornerstone Family Schools student, Magdalene Giar, has won the 2023 Congressional Art Competition for the Second Congressional District of Kansas.

"Congratulations to Topeka student Magdalene Giar on winning the 2023 Congressional Art Competition," said Rep. LaTurner. "Magdalene's colored pencil rendering of a cardinal in the snow is a true work of art and I can't wait to proudly display it in the halls of Congress. I was so impressed by the dozens of submissions this year, and want to thank all the students across the Second District who participated."

“Winter is not my favorite time of year, but cardinals represent a bright interjection of color into a dreary season. For over a year, I wanted to create a piece with a cardinal in the snow. The idea came back to me while birdwatching. I chose to crop my artwork tighter than the reference image to represent a detailed view of this songbird," said Magdalene Giar.

Each spring, a nationwide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives.

As the 2023 winner from the Second District, Magdalene will have the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. to meet with Rep. LaTurner and see her artwork proudly displayed in the halls of the United States Congress. The exhibit in Washington will include the winning artwork from all participating districts from around the country.

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
