Dear Friend,
The war on free speech is really a war on our right to criticize the government.

To this end, the government is working overtime to silence and suppress the free speech rights of anyone who does not march in lockstep with its dictates.

Although the right to speak out against government wrongdoing is the quintessential freedom, every day in this country, those who dare to speak their truth to the powers-that-be find themselves censored, silenced or fired.

For example, an Oklahoma street preacher was given a five-year restraining order and threatened with arrest after citing Bible verses on social media ([link removed]) about God’s judgment of sin.

The ramifications of this kind of censorship going unchallenged could render anyone who quotes the Bible a criminal if it makes a listener feel unsafe or threatened or judged.
HELP US KEEP FREEDOM ALIVE: SUPPORT OUR WORK WITH A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION ([link removed])

That’s why The Rutherford Institute has taken on this case and so many others like it: we must put an end to the government’s efforts to criminalize free speech by labeling those who exercise their free speech rights as criminals and lawbreakers.

Your generous support makes it possible for The Rutherford Institute to stand up for the rights of all Americans who dare to speak truth to power.

With critical cases moving through the courts and a $100,000 First Amendment challenge deadline on June 30 ([link removed]) , we are in particular need of tax-deductible donations to sustain the vital legal and educational programs that enable us to push back against the government’s power grabs, corruption, immorality and ongoing assaults on the Constitution.

For more than 40 years, we have been taking the government to task in order to make it play by the rules of the Constitution, but it remains an uphill battle. Especially now.

Please take a moment to show that you stand with us in this critical fight for liberty and justice for all.

Together, we WILL make America free again.

For freedom,

John W. Whitehead
President

P.S. The Rutherford Institute ([link removed]) —nonpartisan, apolitical and committed to the principles enshrined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights—is working hard to push back against the government’s heavy-handed tyranny on almost every front. We’re filing lawsuits, issuing policy papers, training future freedom fighters, sounding the alarm over constitutional violations, and fighting in and out of the courts to hold the government accountable to playing by the rules of the Constitution.

Still, we couldn’t do all that we do without you. With so many cases and issues hanging in the balance and budgetary concerns that must be addressed, we need your help.
