From hardware stores to restaurants, small businesses are the backbone of our economy. In addition to providing products and services, they create stable jobs that help our communities thrive.
East Tennessee is full of family-owned businesses that keep the state running. They have a special place in cities large and small, and I’m committed to helping them succeed. In fact, I was honored to receive the Guardian of Small Business award from National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) last year.
This week, Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-03) and I reintroduced the Access Business Credit Act, a bill designed to make it easier for small businesses to access credit.
How does it work? By hooking up community banks with incentives to lend to small businesses, we can amp up the economy and fuel some serious job growth. In other words, it's like giving them a sweet break on their taxes.
This legislation is a great way to support our local small businesses and ensure they have the resources they need. I’m proud to partner with Rep. Kim on this bill that will make a difference in our districts—and across the country.
