The GOP is trying to make the lives of everyday people even harder with their ridiculous cuts to critical programs.
Hey John, the latest debt limit bill will have disastrous consequences for everyday working people if it passes.
Here's just a few of the vital programs that will be affected by this GOP-led bill:
- President Joe Biden's student loan forgiveness program would be completely blocked.
- Slashing the budget of the Women, Infants, and Children nutrition program would mean 1.2 million poor Americans with children would lose access to food assistance.
- Pell grants would be $1,000 less and would become completely unavailable for 80,000 students.
- The Head Start program would have 200,000 less slots to give to children who desperately need the program.
- The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) with hard-won and critical energy policies would be eroded.
- And more.
Yeah, we're not having that.
The GOP must be stopped before they can make these cuts a reality. And that's why it's critical that we do everything we can to throw our weight behind Jamaal.
