Hi everyone,
I recently returned from an international trip to Ghana with Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and a number of my Democratic colleagues.
I would like to share a bit of our experience and then ask you to please split a donation between my campaign and the Congressional Black Caucus so we can fight to protect Black history! I’ll leave a link here if you can chip in today.
Together, our delegation had the opportunity to meet with President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana and visit a number of sites related to the transatlantic slave trade. It was an important reminder of the painful history, which binds our two nations together.
I also thought about what it means when there are extremists at home who want to erase this history from our classrooms and behave as though it never happened.
While I stood on the grounds of our ancestors with the first Black Democratic Leader of the House, I took a moment to reflect on what it will take to protect our history moving forward. I think it was a humbling moment for all of us.
I believe this next election is our opportunity to preserve the history that tells the true story of our country.
That’s why I’m asking you to please split a donation between my campaign and the Congressional Black Caucus today so we can keep up the fight.

Thank you so much for your support,
