John, our current
health care system does not work for us.

We’re now at the halfway mark of Q2 and we wanted to take a moment to
ensure that our movement’s vision remains aligned with yours.

Health care is a human right. And it is unconscionable that America is the
richest country in the world, yet over 40 million people are uninsured and
cannot get health care due to extraordinarily high costs.

It’s time to put people over profits and care over
corporations,
John. That’s why I’m
reintroducing my Medicare for All bill to finally cement universal health
care — everybody in, nobody out.

[ [link removed] ]If you’re ready to join our fight, send a letter to your Representative
and Senators today and urge them to pass Medicare for All. We need as many
community supporters as possible to make an impact in Congress.

The pandemic shed a direct light on our broken, for-profit health care
system when nearly 27 million people lost their employer-sponsored health
insurance due to job losses.

Looking at the COVID-19 pandemic and evaluating the true state of our
longstanding health care system, the solution is increasingly clear: We
need Medicare for All.

Under Medicare for All:

* Everyone will have health care, including dental, vision, hearing, and
long term care.
* Expensive premiums, deductibles, co-pays, and other out of pocket
costs will be eliminated completely.
* Roughly 95% of all U.S. households would save money on healthcare
costs.
* The U.S. would save over $450 billion on health expenses annually.

Our country’s lack of universal health care is a racial justice issue.
It’s a gender justice issue. And it’s an economic justice issue.  As a
progressive leader, I have a moral and ethical obligation to advocate for
solutions that meet the urgency of all of our needs.

[ [link removed] ]Please stand with me and our collective progressive movement and urge
lawmakers to pass Medicare for All today. Send a letter to your members of
Congress and demand they put people over profits and pass a universal
health care bill that supports us all.
