Happy Friday! I hope you all had a great week.

I wanted to start out my update by telling you about an exciting bipartisan bill I introduced this week with fellow Minnesotans, Rep. Pete Stauber and Senator Tina Smith.

I’m always looking to create good-paying careers for Minnesotans and ensure that every Minnesotan knows they have the opportunity to succeed – no matter what educational or career skill path they pursue.

Registered apprenticeship colleges help provide students with the skills and tools they need to succeed in a 21st-century economy and create a strong, skilled workforce here in Minnesota – and it’s important they get the resources they need.

So this week, the three of us introduced the bipartisan Supporting Apprenticeship Colleges Act in the 118th Congress to support registered apprenticeship colleges here in Minnesota and across the country. This bill will provide grant funding to help apprenticeship colleges expand outreach to potential students and employers, improve academic advising programs and address common barriers to degree completion – like access to child care and support for first-generation students.

I’m proud to be working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to give more students and employers the workforce support they need.

Discussing housing opportunity with Minnesota's realtors 

It was great to meet with realtors from across MN-02 this week to discuss affordable housing. Thank you for your advocacy!

Meeting with former members of Team USA 
It was a big week for MN-02 soccer fans! It was so great to welcome Carli Lloyd and Alexi Lalas to my DC office on Wednesday. 

Pushing for action on a congressional stock trading ban 

On Thursday, I joined a bipartisan group of colleagues to urge Speaker McCarthy to bring a congressional stock trading ban to the House Floor as soon as possible. Banning Members of Congress from trading stocks is just common sense – and I’ll keep pushing to get this done.

Each year, a bipartisan group of congresswomen take on members of the DC press corps in the Congressional Women’s Softball Game. Team Congress held our first practice of the 2023 season on Wednesday. Can’t wait for another Team Congress win!

I am wishing an extra special Mother’s Day to all the MN-02 mothers, grandmothers and mother-figures celebrating this weekend!

Being a mom isn’t always easy – but it’s one of the best jobs out there (and grandmother is so much more fun). So to all the MN-02 moms – thank you for all that you do.

On that note, I think it’s about time I wrap this up!
