‘The Nakba’ rings loudly in the halls of Congress

Dear Email,

On Tuesday, Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy announced that he had canceled an event on Capitol Hill led by our 501c4 affiliate organization, AJP Action, alongside IMEU, Project48, AFSC, USCPR, VCHR, JVP Action, DAWN, and EMGAGE Action on the Nakba in collaboration with Representative Rashida Tlaib.

In the heat of the massacres in Gaza, congressional leadership was attempting to silence the voices of Palestinians, yet again. They tried to bury the event, but instead, hundreds of people showed up on Wednesday, as planned, to a standing-room-only event on Capitol Hill to commemorate the 75 years of ongoing Nakba,  in the same halls of power where Palestinian suffering has been orchestrated for decades.

During the event, Representative Tlaib introduced a Congressional resolution recognizing the Nakba. The message was resoundingly clear:

WE WILL NOT BE SILENCED!

So let us show up big for Palestine this weekend and reassert that we will not be thrown into the dustbin of history! Palestine will rise!
