John,

[[link removed]] Let's cut right to it: On March 3, Sen. Eddie Lucio needs to go.

Today, TFN's youth organizing arm Texas Rising Action urged voters in the Rio Grande Valley to reject Sen. Lucio. Here's why:

* Sen. Lucio was the only Democratic senator to vote for medically unnecessary regulations designed to restrict access to abortion.
* He was also a key backer of a law requiring doctors to give medically inaccurate information to women about abortion.
* He was the only Democrat to support Lt. Gov. Patrick’s discriminatory “bathroom bill.”
* He voted to allow taxpayer-funded child welfare agencies to reject potential adoptive parents simply because of their sexual orientation.
* He has been Dan Patrick's go-to Democrat for passing anti-public school bills, like private school voucher schemes.

After 30 long years in office, Sen. Lucio has become the one Democrat Gov. Abbott and Dan Patrick can count on. And he is the one Democrat in the Texas Senate that Donald Trump would love.

It's time for Sen. Lucio to go. The two other Democratic candidates in the race would both do a far better job promoting the progressive values of voters in the Rio Grande Valley than Sen. Lucio ever has.

If you live in Senate District 27, please join Texas Rising Action in opposing Sen. Lucio's re-election bid and ask your friends to do the same. Early voting for the primary starts on Feb. 18. See you at the polls!

In the fight,
