Today, Vote Mama Lobby is partnering with @EmilyInYourPhone (an influential activist on instagram) and @ForFactsSake_ (Emily’s new org) to urge Congress to vote on background checks.

With the #PhoneCallsNotFlowers campaign for gun safety, we can all give—and ask for—the gift of action this Mother’s Day. Because let’s be real: flowers and chocolates are nice, but what moms really want for Mother’s Day is policy change. Gun violence has destroyed too many lives, families, and communities. The leading cause of death for American kids is gun violence. Enough is enough.

Our goal is for as many people as possible to call their representatives to pass the Bipartisan Background Checks Act (H.R. 715 / S. 494). Can you take a moment and join this Mother’s Day movement to give the gift of action today?
