The COVID-19 public health emergency, and the associated Title 42 border policy, have ended.

Yesterday, the U.S. ended its national COVID-19 public health emergency. Additionally, the World Health Organization lifted the Public Health Emergency of International Concern for COVID-19.

The Trump-era policy Title 42 is expiring today. The policy allowed the government to automatically deport any undocumented migrants on COVID-19 public health emergency grounds.

Biden's new policy rule requires migrants and asylum seekers to book appointments via the border app. Migrants without appointments will be turned away at the border.
