ERIC'S STORY

MEMORIES OF MOM

When Eric Joy was a teenager, he got the news that no son ever wants to hear. His mother, Judy, had been diagnosed with multiple myeloma.

Eric remembers the comfort and community his mother found through Livestrong during this time.



"Livestrong helped her…fit the rest of her life, other than having cancer, back into her schedule," he said. "It became an important resource for her to retain some kind of control over her life."

Judy Joy, wife and mother of four, lost her battle with cancer in 2013. Through her loss, Eric and his family continued to find support through Livestrong. To this day, the Joy family honors the memories they made on family bike rides with Judy by participating in cycling events like the Livestrong Challenge
