Dear friend, This morning the House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services held their semi-annual review of Kathy Kraninger’s leadership of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Many of you helped us tell Director Kraninger that appointing a Koch shill like Todd Zywicki to the Bureau was a bad idea, so we delivered your comments directly to the hearing. UnKoch activists spoke outside of the hearing today, handing out mock Valentine's Day cards that criticize Director Kraninger's relationship with the Koch network. Will you help amplify the action by sharing our Facebook post?
Our Valentine's Day cards emphasized many of the same critical points Committee members made during the hearing: that Kraninger’s embrace of the Koch network’s agenda has failed consumers. This includes gutting payday protections, helping debt collectors harass consumers with unlimited emails and text messages, and neglecting student borrowers. Like so many of you, Senator Elizabeth Warren even wrote a letter demanding answers from Director Kraninger for her decision to stack the new Bureau Taskforce with representatives of payday lenders, Wall Street banks, and other industry interests. Help us celebrate keeping the pressure on our representatives to #ProtectConsumers by sharing our Facebook post today! In solidarity, Samantha Parsons
