Yesterday, Mitch McConnell's GOP Senate acquitted Donald Trump of impeachment charges, after blocking witness testimony and refusing to examine the additional facts that have come to light.

But there is one tragic fact that we know all too well: Trump has now been given free rein to abuse his power further and to continue to attack our democracy. It’s on us to stop him.

Lee Zeldin has been attached at the hip to Trump throughout this entire process, becoming one of his loudest defenders and a member of his impeachment defense team. Clearly, Zeldin has decided to fight for Team Trump instead of working to improve the lives of people in this community.

Republicans in Congress have spoken. Lee Zeldin has spoken. And in November, the American people will get a chance to speak. We need to defend our democracy by unseating Trump sycophants like Zeldin.
