In 1933, a massive fire destroyed 249 buildings and displaced more than 2,000 people in New Auburn. Miraculously, there were no deaths or serious injuries, but the "Great New Auburn Fire" transformed our community forever. On Monday, May 15 at 1:00PM (the time at which the fire began), the City of Auburn will hold a brief ceremony in Anniversary Park to mark the 90th anniversary of the fire. All are invited to attend. |
