The January Advocacy Update is here! CHBA BC contributed submissions to a number of consultations from grab bars, the Builders Lien Act to extreme weather events. This is also an excellent way to stay informed on how the provincial association advocates for you and ensures your voices are heard — the only way to find out is to check out the update HERE.

As you may already be aware, two major molded interior door manufacturers, JELD-WEN Inc. and Masonite International Corp., have simultaneously increased the prices of certain products by upwards of 25%, effective mid-February 2020. Members can file a complaint online. The entire process takes approx. 5-10 minutes.
In response to concerns members have on this issue, CHBA has been in contact with the Competition Bureau, an independent federal law enforcement agency mandated with ensuring a competitive and innovative Canadian marketplace. If as a member you have received these notices and/or have been impacted by these increases, you can file formal complaints with the Bureau.To file a complaint, simply:
Navigate to the Competition Bureau's complaint form.
Provide your name, business and contact information in the complainant's information section.
Provide the name and contact information of the company(ies) you have a complaint against.
Outline your concerns and attach any documentation to support your complaint.
Once you file your complaint, please let us know by contacting Nicole Christy, Manager of Government Relations, National, at [email protected] so we can get a better sense of the scope and scale of this issue.
