Dear John,
I am happy to announce today the launch of The Center for Inclusion and Belonging [[link removed]] (Center) at the American Immigration Council.
The new Center will house our efforts to change hearts and minds toward those considered the “other” in our country and to build bridges across differences in order to foster a more united America.
We believe that we cannot solve many of the problems facing our nation today—including our outdated immigration system—until we first address the dynamics fueling our divisions and deepening an “us versus them” mindset across America.
The Council has long invested in important defensive work in the courts and on Capitol Hill. While this work will continue, we will now double down on long-term strategies to change hearts and minds. We are looking forward to deepening our investment in this space at a time where it feels so needed.
Our longstanding Council staff director Wendy Feliz will serve as director of the Center for Inclusion and Belonging and will work closely with the Council’s other programs. Please read a note from her on the formation of the Center here . [[link removed]]
The Center is generously supported by the Walmart Foundation, Ford Foundation, Walder Foundation, and the Einhorn Family Charitable Trust.

We hope you will join us in the work of building a more united America!
