Breaking news: A decision was finally made on California's Proposition 12, one of the strongest farmed animal protection laws in the country!
Since Prop 12 passed in 2018, the meat industry has been fighting this monumental law. Placing profit over animal well-being, the National Pork Producers Council and American Farm Bureau Federation fought the state of California all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States.
After a months-long decision-making process, the Supreme Court has affirmed the dismissal of claims against Prop 12.
This is a huge victory for animals! Please take a moment to celebrate this accomplishment.
The next crucial step in strengthening protections for animals is to pass federal legislation that places the responsibility of beginning to solve various problems in the U.S. food system where it belongs: on the corporations that have created them.
