Ema found community in Rhode Island through cooking dishes from her parent’s home country of Guinea-Bissau with her chosen group of ‘aunts’. 🥟The pastels she prepares for us on tonight’s show are a staple dish that people expect at any get together!

Anteneh is a first-generation immigrant from Liberia. 🧡 She has fond memories of preparing food with her mom to share with the community. On tonight’s episode, she recreates a family favorite, Liberian Meat Pies!

Both Anteneh & Ema’s motivation for joining the show comes from the experience of preparing food with the people you love. 💕 My favorite part of making this series is how all the cast & crew met as strangers, but after spending time preparing & eating food together we feel in community.
The only good thing about season 1 wrapping up is that all 4 episodes are all out now on YouTube to watch whenever you want! I hope you’ve enjoyed watching the show as much as we have all enjoyed making it for you.
