Patriot, In George Orwell’s novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, the government controlled the entire media, which it used to spread outrageous lies about past and current events. The government spied on every citizen, and anyone who didn’t believe and follow the government’s narrative was arrested and brainwashed. It’s essentially the government we have today, only ours is more subtle and sophisticated. One of the government’s most effective tools for crushing dissent is Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which despite being created to spy on foreigners is in fact used to spy on Americans all the time. More than 3 million times in 2021 alone, to be more precise. That year – the first of Joe Biden’s administration – saw a more than 250% increase over previous years. Not only is the FISA Court typically a rubber stamp for requests to spy on American citizens, but the court once announced that the government reported numerous incidents in which the FBI gathered surveillance without even bothering to obtain a warrant from the court. These aren’t innocent peeks. FISA abuse was a critical part of the Deep State’s sabotage of the Donald Trump campaign and administration. Relying on a false document created by a foreign agent acting on behalf of the Hillary Clinton campaign, the FISA court issued a warrant to spy on the Trump campaign, and then, his administration. Against the Deep State, innocence is no protection. As Joseph Stalin’s police chief liked to say, “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.” We’ve known about the government’s mass spying program for years, now. But until recently, there was at least the comfort that the government wouldn’t know what to do with all of that mass surveillance. Now, with the advent of Artificial Intelligence, it’s clear the government is capable of building detailed “profiles” of every American, including you and me. The good news is, many Americans have started to wise up to this nonsense – especially after watching the Deep State go on the warpath against the Trump administration. But soon, Section 702’s authorization will expire – and we must demand Congress not reauthorize this abused, unconstitutional power. That’s why I’m counting on you to please sign your directive to Congress to sunset FISA Section 702 immediately! Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) said renewal of Section 702 in its current state is “dead on arrival.” You and I need to kill it off in any way they try to put lipstick on the pig. The fact is, the Deep State is hell-bent on collecting every American’s emails, phone records, text messages, Internet searches, instant messages, online purchases, and Facebook posts. And they’re not letting anything get in their way. As admitted in the news, the NSA “deliberately ignored restrictions on their authority to spy on Americans multiple times in the past decade.” This is a fight for the very future of our Republic. No government in the history of mankind – not even the Communist East German Stasi of yesteryear – has ever held the massive spying power our federal government holds over law-abiding U.S. citizens today. No government in world history that’s ever sought this power has even been able to avoid the temptation for abuse . . . and the Biden regime doesn’t even pretend to resist this temptation. Remember, the Biden Justice Department believes the biggest threat to America isn’t a foreign government – it’s the American people. And what they mean, of course, is those guilty of “wrongthink,” as Orwell put it. People like you and me. That’s why it’s so critical you DEMAND Congress let Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act expire. There are literally thousands of examples of agency abuse. The FBI has become so emboldened, they’re using DMV photos to launch a massive facial recognition database! They are skirting the law by buying your internet history from the Big Tech companies. This should be no surprise. Men aren’t angels. Neither are politicians, government bureaucrats, or AI algorithms. Our Founders understood that liberty cannot exist without privacy. As Benjamin Franklin stated, “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” But today, our Constitution’s Fourth Amendment – which protects American citizens’ right to privacy from government – is hanging by nothing but a thread. The protections you and I have against the actions of evil men holding the reins of our own government are dropping like flies. You and I must take a stand. Please tell Congress right now to STOP THE SURVEILLANCE STATE. And if you can, please also make a contribution of $100, $50, $25, $10, or whatever you can afford to help us inform and mobilize more patriots for this fight. For Liberty, John McCardell Executive Director Campaign for Liberty P.S. Section 702 of FISA – which allowed the massive collection of innocent Americans’ emails, texts, phone calls, and online chats to continue – is set to expire next year. If you and I turn up enough heat on Congress to stop reauthorization, I’m convinced we can bring the statists’ domestic spying programs to a crashing halt.
