Yesterday, the Ohio House of Representatives passed Senate Joint Resolution 2 (SJR2), a measure that significantly impacts the fundamental rights of Ohioans.

Make no mistake -- this measure is unfair, unpopular, and unnecessary.

The anti-democratic SJR2 resolution asks voters to raise the required threshold percentage for enacting constitutional amendments through ballot measures from 50 to 60 percent of the vote. By imposing this higher threshold, the measure would make it more difficult for Ohioans to amend their state's constitution and will limit their ability to shape their own democracy.
