The 2023 legislative session was historic and transformational in so many ways.

And Governor Holcomb is proud of the action the legislature took to enact his

2023 Next Level Agenda that will help strengthen our already strong state person by person, community by community.


That includes acting on his recommendation to provide $500 million for a second round of funding for our nationally recognized Regional Economic Acceleration & Development Initiative, commonly referred to as

READI.


The first round of funding will leverage another $6.5 billion of local, private, and philanthropic funding to undertake projects across the state that will enhance Hoosiers' quality of life, quality of place, and quality of opportunity. And this second round will help us lock in even more transformational projects.


The legislature also enacted other parts of Governor Holcomb’s agenda to support stronger communities, including:


🧭 Funding Next Level Trails to expand the state’s trails system

🌎 Allocating dollars for land conservation efforts


✈️ Providing funds to bring more direct flights to Indiana


🧳 Appropriating dollars to provide upgrades to regional airports


🥫Doubling funding to the state’s food bank network to $2 million a year
