Hi John, it’s Emilia. I wanted to take a moment to share my personal story with you and remind you why I’m in this fight.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Hi John, it’s Emilia. I wanted to take a moment to share my personal story with you and remind you why I’m in this fight. I hope you’ll take a moment to read, but if you’re already with me, will you chip in $10 to my campaign to ensure Northeast Ohio continues to receive the best representation possible?

I like to joke that most parents expose their children in utero to classical music and reading certain books – but I was exposed to city council meetings. Growing up in a household of public servants, the power of public service and the importance of using my voice to advocate for my community was ingrained in me from a young age.

So when I saw, first-hand, that Northeast Ohio families work incredibly hard every day but too often aren’t given the opportunity that many others enjoy, I knew I had to stand up and challenge the status quo.

That’s why I entered a career in public service: To fight on behalf of the people against the powerful and change the status quo.

That’s why, during my time as State Representative for Akron and Ohio's State House Minority Leader, I stood up against politicians who didn’t care about the day-to-day lives of Ohioans and worked across the aisle to fight for higher wages, middle and working-class tax cuts, and other legislation that would put more money in our pockets.

And that’s why, last year, I ran for – and won – one of the most competitive House seats in the country.

Because our community knows we deserve an advocate on the federal level – someone who isn’t afraid to stand up for our jobs, healthcare, and freedoms and fight to make the day-to-day a little bit easier.

My promise to you is that I’ll always strive to be that type of leader, and that I’ll never stop delivering for the community I love. When it comes to fighting for Northeast Ohio, I’m only just getting started.

But, John, the reality is that the race here in OH-13 is, once again, shaping up to be one of the most competitive elections in the country. To defend this seat and continue delivering for Northeast Ohio in Congress, I’m going to need the support of this grassroots team. Please, will you join me in this fight and chip in to my re-election campaign today?
