Dear Friend,
My name is Carolyn Kruger, and I've been working with international nursing programs for over 35 years. For the past six, I have had the opportunity to volunteer with Project HOPE's Sierra Leone neonatal nursing program.
I went to Sierra Leone to help lower their maternal and child mortality rates, which are some of the highest in the world. The country lost 21% of their health workforce in the devastating 2014 Ebola epidemic, and equipment and supplies remain scarce.
Because of caring people like you, we were able to help by:
* Establishing two Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) units. In hospitals without incubators or reliable electricity, KMC units save the lives of vulnerable newborn babies by keeping them in skin-to-skin contact with their mothers.
* Starting community care groups for mothers so they can identify health problems in their newborns, as well as continue to learn and support each other the long-term.
* Helping develop neonatal nursing education programs, including Sierra Leone's first Bachelor's and Master of Science degrees in Neonatal Nursing -- allowing local health workers to provide the best care possible for small and sick newborns.
But even now, there isn't enough help for all of the babies who need it. And the situation is just as dire in places like the Dominican Republic, Colombia and Ethiopia. That's why Project HOPE and I have set a goal to raise $50,000 by Mother's Day -- while your gift will DOUBLE thanks to our matching gift challenge. Please make your gift today to honor and aid moms, nurses and caregivers everywhere.

Today, every $1 you contribute = $2 to help moms, babies and volunteers like me.

I can't tell you the joy I feel knowing more mothers can watch their children grow up to be resilient and strong -- all because Project HOPE was able to create these units, set up community support groups and empower neonatal nurses with the training and education they need to care for moms and newborns.
With your help, we can continue to prepare new generations of neonatal nurses and make sure more mothers, babies and children have a healthy future. You can help give that precious gift today. That's the power of your generosity, so please donate today while you can double your lifesaving impact.
Thank you for your compassion and care!
