In the face of rising extremism, it is more urgent than ever to join together in the co-creation of a more just and equal world.
We all know that 2018 saw unprecedented attacks on our community – and that the courageous grantees of Urgent Action Fund are the frontline of movements of equity for women and transgender people worldwide.
Our grantee partners fought for Black Muslim journalists in France whose freedom of speech was threatened. They fought for the release of women fighting for their rights in Saudi Arabia. They continue to mobilize against the surveillance, incarceration, and detention of migrant families in Texas and California.
We stand behind them every step of the way.
Why?
Because together, we dream and envision a world free of extremism — where we all feel free and safe to be our true selves, where families and communities are kept whole, where our environment matters, and where violence is not tolerated. A world resplendent with a sense of opportunity and possibility for all people.
But most importantly, we have hope. We have hope, because this is a world that we are already co-creating as a community of donors, activists, and donor-activists. It is well within our reach, thanks to your steadfast support. And as we march united towards a more just and feminist world, we ask you to continue standing with us and our grantee partners, to continue being dreamers and believers with us.
