Here are three things that the modern Republican Party did this week:

 

  1. Their leading candidate for President of the United States was found liable for sexual assault. On live TV the next day, his fans laughed at the jokes he made about his victim. In that same interview, he said he’d pardon a “large portion” of the Jan. 6th insurrectionists.

  2. One of their members of Congress, Rep. George Santos, was indicted on 13 federal counts, including wire fraud and money laundering. The House Speaker, who desperately needs every Republican vote to maintain his tiny majority, told reporters he’s standing by Santos.

  3. The Ohio Republican Party just moved forward with changing the rules to require 60% of the vote to pass a constitutional amendment. That’s because there will be a measure on the ballot this fall that would protect the right to choose, and recent polls suggest 59% of Ohio voters support it.

 

MAGA is pure lawlessness. They lose the election, then pretend it was stolen. They break the law, then laugh it off. When the will of the people threatens to stand in their way, they change the rules to stop them.

 

Their struggle for total power is the only thing that matters to them. You can call it brazen, or shameless, or a whole bunch of other words I picked up in the Marines.

 

The bottom line is this won’t stop unless people like me and you step forward to make sure they lose.

 

Democratic Majority Action has a track record of reaching voters where it matters, when it matters, with a message that matters. And we’ve proven we can beat them up and down the ballot.

That’s exactly what we must do again in 2024, and we’re not waiting around to get started. Will you chip in right now to help fund the work of defending democracy from Trumpism?
