More commuters use Penn Station every day than Newark, JFK and LGA combined.

The Portal Bridge, which carries 450+ NJ Transit and Amtrak trains daily, fails to close properly one of every seven times it opens.


Every year of delay is expected to add more than $500 million to the price tag of repair and construction.
