John -

Hundreds of the world's wealthiest shareholders are arriving in Europe to
make critical decisions on where and how the largest and most powerful
banks should invest their money.

And right now, 350.org climate activists from Argentina and the Mapuche
indigenous communities are arriving in Europe too.

These activists have seen first-hand the destruction the fossil fuel
industry has brought to communities in Latin America, and are setting out
to call on banks to stop investing in climate-wrecking projects worldwide.

But unlike the wealthy shareholders attending the meetings, the climate
activists do not have endless resources to cover their accommodation.
Which brings me to why I'm writing to you today:

The climate activists from Argentina are aiming to attend EVERY meeting
that they can while they are in Europe. But accommodation, food,
transportation, and an internet connection are all expensive.

[ [link removed] ]Which is why I am asking if you can make a
$3.50
donation today so that we can support these climate activists in attending
all of the banks' meetings happening across Europe during May?

Banks' shareholder meetings occur shortly after fossil fuel companies
publish their annual financial results, and this year, fossil fuel
companies like Shell and BP recorded record-breaking profits^1 — profits
that were only possible because banks continue to invest in fossil fuel
projects that wreck our climate and our futures. We can't let these banks
keep financing climate destruction.

The very first meeting was yesterday, but with your help, we'll be able to
send these activists to ALL of the meetings to tell the real story about
the impacts of their continued investments in fossil fuel projects, and to
strengthen and build partnerships with climate organizations across
Europe. Here are just a few of the meetings and plans the activists are
participating in:

* May 16: BNP Paribas shareholder meeting in Paris, France. Our
delegation will attend the event and participate in actions alongside
the BNP Case Coalition, Reclaim Finance, Banktrack and Friends of the
Earth.
* May 17: Deutsche Bank shareholder meeting in Frankfurt, Germany. This
meeting will be online. Our delegation will participate in it and then
attend activities in Frankfurt. Among them is a joint action with
Fridays For Future targeting companies that frack gas from Latin
America.^2

As of now, we are still falling short on our target to send climate
activists across Europe to attend those meetings. That's why we need your
help.

If every person reading this email chipped in today, we could send climate
activists to every one of these bank shareholder meetings happening around
Europe to represent and tell the real story about the impact they're
having on people and our planet.

[ [link removed] ]If you can, please consider making a contribution today so we can push
companies to take the climate action our planet desperately needs.

I'll keep you posted in the coming days on our progress. More soon.

In solidarity,

May Boeve
