May 11, 2023 Accessible Exterior Routes and Surfaces Webinar Available in Archives If you missed the U.S. Access Board?s webinar on accessible exterior routes and surfaces in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Standards last week, you can access the webinar recording and presentation materials in the archives. This webinar addressed the accessibility requirements for exterior routes and surfaces, including the differences between accessible routes for building sites, outdoor recreation areas, trails, and beaches. Additionally, Board Accessibility Specialists shared information on the concepts of stable, firm, and slip resistant surfaces in the outdoor environment, as well as reviewed playground surfaces. This webinar included video remote interpreting (VRI) and real-time captioning. The webinar series is hosted by the ADA National Network in cooperation with the Board.
