Teachers are the backbone of our community in so many ways, and lately, we’ve asked for too much of them. They aren’t just teachers, they are social workers, first responders, lifelines, and far too often – the first line of defense when tragedy strikes.

We must do more to support our educators and students, from tackling the gun violence epidemic to making sure our schools have the resources they need so teachers aren’t dipping into their own paychecks for classroom essentials.

I’ll keep fighting in DC and here in Arizona to do just that. But today, will you join me in saying thank you to our educators?
