I want to talk with you about Texas’s Governor Greg Abbott.

Especially after he went on Fox News after last week’s Allen, Texas shooting and claimed California had a worse gun violence problem than California.

That is false.

California has some strongest gun laws in the country and one of the lowest gun death per-capita rates in the country.

Texas’ rate... 73% higher than California’s.

I want to talk to you about Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who instead of taking action to make our schools safer from gun violence, signed a law to send DNA kits to parents of school children so their bodies can be identified after a shooting.

I want to tell you about Texas Governor Greg Abbott who bragged about signing open carry laws that require “no license or training needed.”

It’s insane.

No license, no training to carry an AR-15 openly in Texas.

For parents, they get a split second to decide whether the gun with the long gun in Starbucks is a mass-shooter or one of Abbott’s open carry patriots.

And I want to tell you about Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who once publicly declared that he was embarrassed his state was only 2nd in the country for gun purchases, has presided over an exponential growth in gun deaths in his state since becoming governor.

Greg Abbott is a fraud. He should have the courage to just come out and say the high rates of gun violence and death is an acceptable price to pay to protect the profits of gun manufacturers and preserve his reputation among the far-right.
