John, in a moment, I'm going to ask you to donate to help make my friend Colin Allred the next U.S. senator from Texas. But first, I want to explain why he's the real deal.

Colin is a fourth-generation Texan, born and raised in North Texas, who was first elected to represent the very same district he grew up in. Like me, he has a proud football-playing past (him at Baylor and in the NFL, me at Stanford), but he'll be the first to tell you that's the least interesting part of his story.

After the NFL, he went to law school and became a civil rights attorney. He specialized in voting rights because he's watched Americans' fundamental right to vote be attacked and eroded over the years. Then he brought this fight all the way to Congress, standing up against voter suppression, which we know disproportionately targets Black and brown communities.

Now, Colin is running for Senate, and I'm all in to help him win. He's the leader Texans deserve – but to be honest, he's facing an uphill battle and needs your support. I told him I'd run up any mountain with him, and I'm hoping you'll join me in doing the same: Please, will you chip in $5, $10 or as much as you can spare so he can flip Texas blue?

Analysts rank Texas as one of Democrats' best chances to flip a red seat blue next year – and with Democrats holding on to the slimmest of Senate majorities, this is an opportunity we can't afford to waste.

A lot of people say a Democrat can't win in Texas, but from where I'm standing and with Colin on the ballot, our chances have never been better. The day Colin launched his campaign, The Cook Political Report increased our chances of winning this race.

When Colin first ran for office, he unseated an 11-term incumbent to help Democrats flip the House in 2018. I'm confident Colin can win – but only if we help him raise the resources he needs. So please, I'm personally asking: Will you chip in now to help Colin flip Texas blue and expand our Democratic Senate majority?
