Welcome to the latest edition of our NAAC e-alert. Please share our e-alert with your friends and family to keep them updated of all that's happening in and around Nottingham and encourage them to join our mailing list for all future updates on events and activities.
The past few weekends have been very busy and exciting for NAAC. We delivered Holi and Vaisakhi in the Park, and are pleased to push forward with the forthcoming events. NAAC Staff and Board would like to* THANK and Congratulate all our NAAC Music & Dance Academy students, Apna Virsa Giddha group from Nottingham, DJ Sunil, Little & Young Stars group, DJ NAV, Nachda Sansaar, Hit the Dhol and Bee2 *for delivering fantastic performances at both our events...Holi and Vaisakhi in the Park. A* Big Thank You *also to all the* staff at Nottingham City Council *who helped at the events, and our *Volunteers team*, led by Dhaval Shah, who all worked relentlessly at both the events with setting up, surveys, clearing up and much more...??
We had superb vocal, tabla, kathak, bhangra, giddha and dhol performances by our NAAC Music & Dance Academy students. All this would not have been possible without the dedication and support of our tutors and not forgetting the parents, who 'taxi' them to and fro the classes every Wednesday! So...to the *Tutors and Parents...A Very Big Thank You! *Your involvement as participants, audiences, volunteers and students has been invaluable. Additionally, Thank You to *Radford Academy and Girish Patel (The Clock)* for letting us use the premises and for extra classes to practice for the events...??
Please advertise our ongoing NAAC Music & Dance Academy classes held every Wednesday from 5:30pm-8:00pm at Radford Academy. Please register your interest if you want to learn how to sing; play tabla, dhol, sitar, harmonium, keyboard; Kathak, Bhangra or Bollywood Dance! And...*we are pleased to announce that we will be starting Giddha classes soon...so please register your interest ASAP.*

As part of the *2023* *Nottingham Poetry Festival,* Kavya Rang will be hosting a Kavi Sammelan on* Sunday, May 28th 2023 at the Hindu Temple, 215 Carlton Road, Nottingham, NG3 2FX. *
The programme will begin at 1.30pm with lunch served first and poetry scheduled between 2.30pm-4pm. We would be delighted if you can attend and will be be extremely grateful if you can share the details of this event with any interested parties. Yoga & Wellbeing @ Wollaton Park
Name: Wellbeing at Wollaton (open to all ages/backgrounds)
When: 1st Sunday of Every Month starting from 4 June 2023
Time: 10:00-11:30
For the sessions, the first 15/20 minutes of the Sunday will be Mindful Meditation and a warm-up of Yoga followed by the planned session for that week.
Sessions will be lead by Devina Parekh, Founder Hot Yoga Nottingham, who said "We are very grateful and excited to be a part of such a fantastic idea that we can bring to life".

Ay-UpMarket, Friday 16 to Sunday 18 June 2023

Ay-UpMarket returns to Old Market Square this year, from Friday 16 to Sunday 18 June 2023. It is a celebration of Nottingham's independent businesses and building on last year's success, the Ay-UpMarket will feature a curated market of independent traders, family-friendly entertainment and street food. Ay-UpMarket is brought to you by Nottingham BID and Nottingham City Council and the project is part-funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
NAAC are pleased to announce that there will be performances from our Music & Dance Academy students on both days.

International Day of Yoga, Saturday 24 June 2023
Come and celebrate International Day of Yoga at Wollaton Hall & Deer Park!
*Date :* Saturday 24th June 2023
*Time:* 10 – 4 pm
Yoga
*FREE ENTRY* to the event on a first come first served basis in line with venue capacity. In case of bad weather, the event may be inside on a first come first served basis only.
Please wear comfortable clothing and arrive ready for yoga activities – please note the activity is on grass / ground, so come prepared with mats or blankets.

Eid in the Park, Sunday 2 July 2023
Since ‘*EID in the Park’* was sadly postponed at Wollaton Park due to unforeseeable weather during April, ‘*EID in the Park’* is now planned to go ahead on *Sunday 2nd July 2023*.
An email will be sent out to all those who had booked their tickets by the end of the week asking you to re-book tickets for 2nd July. This is simply so that we know that you are still available to come to the event on the new date.
To ensure we know how many tickets are available, we ask anyone that plans to attend to simply *re-book for the new date*.
*Please note: the original tickets from April will no longer be valid.*

This year we will be having a week long festival with events in various venues around Wollaton, Art in Shop Windows (on Bramcote Lane) and a grand finale in the grounds of Wollaton Hall & Deer Park. For details, watch this space!

Finally...
A great achievement for one of our NAAC Music & Dance Academy students, Madhav Mehta, who played tabla at a concert by Music for Everyone at Albert Hall in Nottingham on Saturday 23 of April 2023. Music for Everyone is a registered charity committed to making a difference to people’s lives through the creativity and enjoyment of music.
The performance was led by experienced singing tutors Alison Bennett, Sara King and Rachel Parkes. Madhav demonstrated solo tabla as an Indian instrument and then joined with the Choir and played a fusion Tabla piece. The hall was full and everyone really appreciated fusion. Well done Madhav...
