Imagine if the land around you began to vanish, getting smaller and less inhabitable every moment. Areas where you once roamed freely are now sinking in, breaking off into fragments and disappearing into a mass of nothing but open ocean.
You’re a fantastic swimmer, but you’re not meant to live your entire life in the water. So with your habitat rapidly disappearing, you’re running out of places to rest, reproduce, and feed, making it much harder for you to survive.
If you haven’t guessed it yet, Friend, you’re a polar bear in this scenario. This is the reality that vulnerable polar bears in the Arctic are facing. The fragile Arctic region is melting TWICE as fast as the rest of the world, and experts predict it could be totally ice-free within the next 31 years! This is BAD NEWS for the endangered Southern Beaufort Sea polar bear population, the most imperiled polar bears in the world, with only 900 remaining.
And to make matters worse, the Biden administration has just given Big Oil a massive dirty energy handout by permitting increased oil and gas drilling in the Arctic, disrupting sensitive polar bear habitats with toxic noise, air, and water pollution. We still have a chance to STOP the fossil fuel industry from pushing these vulnerable animals to EXTINCTION -- but only if we apply enough public pressure on the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to reject this rule. We’re urgently counting on activists like you to step up and help save Arctic polar bears from Big Oil and Gas. Will you take action now before it’s too late?
Friend, how long will we let the FWS appease the fossil fuel industry and put Big Oil profits above our polar bears and our planet?
Big Oil’s corporate greed is already responsible for the worsening climate crisis, and now the government is allowing it to harm and potentially kill innocent polar bear cubs while further industrializing the bears’ sensitive habitat for oil and gas profits.
Moreover, this rule is a violation of the Marine Mammals Protection Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, and the Endangered Species Act!
In fact, the FWS itself has already confirmed that there’s a 95% probability that this new oil and gas activity will cause serious injury or death to polar bears. And yet, the agency has FAILED to hold Big Oil accountable for putting these vulnerable animals at risk. But environmentalists like you won’t stand for any more dirty energy handouts, will you, Friend? Protect our polar bears and demand that the FWS reject oil and gas activity in the Arctic NOW! >>
Your voice is critical in this fight,
