It just keeps coming—video of the amazingly great performances from the last several weeks of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. I know of no other two weeks in the year that offer such a collection of diverse and brilliant music. Because of the presence of Festival headliners Dead & Company, the unique thing that happened this year were the many performances by bands that have been inspired by the Grateful Dead. This clip of one of them, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, is undoubtedly one of the very best—especially because the Dead’s founding drummer Bill Kreutzmann sat in. |
