Hello John,
Everyone deserves the power to feed our families, keep our communities safe from pollution, and build a thriving future.
But which communities pay the price for "renewable" transitions of our energy system?
Join us in a new kind of conversation hosted by Local Clean Energy Alliance (LCEA) on Wednesday May 24, 2023 from 12-1pm PST/3-4 PM ET ([link removed]) about the transformation of our energy system, and how local solutions led by Black, Brown, and Indigenous communities can reduce the need for lithium extraction across the globe:

Energy Democracy champions will offer alternatives to devastating lithium extraction, and unveil opportunities to prioritize people over profit in a just energy transition. In solidarity with frontline activism around the world, Johanna Bozuwa, Leslie Quintanilla and Mariela Loera will invite us to reimagine our energy system for our communities, here in the U.S.

A transformed energy system builds a transformed world: we can live in tandem with the environment and each another, and radically counter models of control that fail our communities. We hope you'll join us in affirming that together, another future rooted in justice is possible.
In solidarity,
Selena Feliciano
