We need these GOOD judges on the federal bench

People For the American Way

Friend,

For decades, the Far Right has made it their quest to secure and maintain an ultra-conservative stronghold on the federal judiciary to advance their extreme agenda. They’ve stacked our courts with judges who are only interested in protecting the wealthy and powerful — not us.

It’s time to take back our courts. To do that, we must ensure that the Senate confirms fair-minded judges who will hold abusive law enforcement officials accountable, protect our right to vote, and defend our reproductive rights.

People For is supporting federal judicial nominees with a track record that proves they understand that the justice system should protect all of us – not just the wealthy and well-connected. And I want you to meet them:

Nancy Abudu is the Deputy Legal Director at the Southern Poverty Law Center. She has dedicated her entire career to defending people’s basic rights and ensuring that no one is deprived of the protections guaranteed to us by the law. When confirmed, Nancy Abudu will be the first Black woman ever on the Eleventh Circuit and only the third Black judge ever on that court. Learn more about Nancy Abudu.
Rachel Bloomekatz is a public interest lawyer and award-winning litigator. She has devoted her work to representing disadvantaged populations in voting rights, workers’ and consumers’ rights, gun safety, public health, and constitutional and civil rights cases. Learn more about Rachel Bloomekatz.
Julie Rikelman is the Litigation Director for the Center for Reproductive Rights. She argued before the Supreme Court to protect abortion rights in the Dobbs case last year. She is an immigrant from the former Soviet Union whose career demonstrates a tireless commitment to safeguarding the constitutional rights of all people. Learn more about Juliet Rikelman.

We are proud to support fair-minded judges who are committed to civil rights. Each of their confirmations will make a difference in the lives of people throughout America and in the fight to strengthen our democracy—but it's going to take all of us working together to make sure this happens.

In the coming weeks, we'll be asking you to join us in turning up the pressure to get our senators to prioritize the confirmation of these fair-minded judges.

Stay tuned for more. In the meantime, learn more about what we’re doing to help confirm good judges.

Thanks for all that you do,

Marge Baker
