It's Teacher Appreciation Week! Parents have showered their children’s teachers with treats and gifts this week in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week. The week also provides the opportunity to ask why teachers’ union leaders prioritize political activism rather than classroom teachers' significant concerns. Teachers report that they are overwhelmed by students’ misbehavior and academic needs. After years of instruction disrupted by cruel COVID-era closures, K-12 teachers are facing disengaged students, alarming learning loss, and discipline issues that are creating an unsafe environment for both teachers and students. For many, the chaos has inspired them to quit. As education freedom expands across the country, more teachers will have the opportunity to leave the public system and work in healthy environments where they can feel safe and appreciated. Last year, Payton McNabb, a North Carolina high school athlete and Independent Women’s Forum spokeswoman, was seriously injured during a volleyball game where a biological male on the opposing women's team forcefully spiked the ball into her head. The sheer impact from the volleyball knocked McNabb unconscious and exhibiting a fencing response. She continues to suffer significant physical and mental effects today. McNabb is now speaking up to keep women's sports female, so no other female athlete suffers injuries from a male athlete.
