There has been an attack on your right to amend the constitution
Friend,
I'm writing to you today with some urgent news. The Ohio House just passed Senate Joint Resolution 2 (SJR2), a bill that would make it much more difficult for Ohioans to amend their state constitution.
SJR2 would require a supermajority vote of 60% to approve any constitutional amendment. This means that it would be much more difficult for ordinary Ohioans to pass progressive measures like paid family leave, campaign finance reform, and environmental protections.
This is a direct attack on democracy. It's an attempt by millionaires to rig the system in their favor and make it harder for the people to have their voices heard.
We need to fight back against this attack on democracy. We need to raise money to defeat SJR2 and protect the right of Ohioans to make their own laws.
