In Less Than 2 Weeks We'll Be Going to the Polls
Who are you taking with you?
Tuesday, February 18, is the Wisconsin Spring Primary Election — that's less than two weeks away!
There is a critical statewide race for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice, a ten-year seat, on the ballot. Supreme Court Justice Dan Kelly (incumbent) will be facing off against two challengers.
Now we'll ask again.... Who are you taking with you? Statistics show that Wisconsin's primary elections generally have a low voter turnout. We want to change that trend and show up on Tuesday, February 18, to be sure our voices are heard for this very important Supreme Court race.
How can we do that?
1. By being accountable. Commit right now to calling a friend (or 2 or 3), coworker, family member or neighbor and inviting them to go to the polls with you on February 18. Make it an event! Go out for coffee, ice cream, breakfast or lunch!
2. If you haven't already done so, register to vote NOW. Registering in advance saves time at the polls. Learn more HERE.
3. Know where your polling place is before election day. Click HERE to find out where you vote on February 18.
4. Look over your brand new Voter Guide to compare the candidates before you vote then SHARE it with everyone you know! CLICK HERE to access your free, downloadable Supreme Court Justice Voter Guide. Print off and share with friends, family and neighbors. Share it on your Facebook! Know before you vote!
5. Wisconsin Family Action PAC (WFA PAC), the state’s only conservative pro-family PAC, has endorsed incumbent Justice Daniel Kelly for a ten-year term on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. View the endorsement HERE and share this as well!
6. PRAY! Pray for a positive outcome for this election. Ask others to pray with you or share in a Bible study or other gathering.
7. Encourage your pastor to remind people of their Christian civic duty to vote. An educational Voter Information Publication suitable for churches is available HERE.
8. Get a few people at your church to help you call through your church directory on Monday, February 17 and just remind them to vote.
Want to make sure you don't miss exercising your voice at the polls for this important election? At most municipalities across Wisconsin EARLY VOTING is under way right now! Play it safe and vote early or request your absentee ballot HERE!
NOTE: There's a special-election primary also on Feb. 18. This is the first step in filling the vacancy in the 7th Congressional District created after Sean Duffy resigned last September. Wisconsin Family Action PAC has endorsed Republican Tom Tiffany in this race. Read the press release HERE. The general election for this race is Tuesday, May 12.

National Marriage Week
National Marriage Week USA (Feb. 7-14) is a collaborative campaign to strengthen individual marriages, reduce the divorce rate, and build a culture that fosters strong marriages. We know marriage greatly benefits children and prevents poverty. Join us--host a special event, launch a marriage class and get the word out in your community during National Marriage Week USA.
Did you know that married adults live longer lives, have better health, and greater personal happiness? Children who are raised by a married mother and father perform better in school, have fewer addictions, fewer teen pregnancies, and less trouble with the law. Research clearly shows that marriage boosts measures of human well-being for children, women, and men.
In this week's " Wisconsin Family Connection" radio program, Julaine Appling, WFA president, says, "We believe we should celebrate God’s plan for marriage and family every month, but this month we have a formal recognition of marriage with National Marriage Week happening from February 7 through February 14. This is a time to celebrate and promote the good of marriage in Wisconsin, the United States and around the world.
"Back in 2012, when we had a Governor who understood the importance of marriage as God designed it, Governor Walker issued a Marriage Week proclamation. In part that proclamation says, that “marriage creates new families, binds men and women together in a network of affection, mutual aid and mutual obligation, commits fathers and mothers to their children, and connects children to a wider network of relatives.
”The proclamation continues, stating that “a healthy, loving marriage deserves special respect because it…creates the safest place for children to flourish and to enjoy the full emotional, moral, educational and financial benefits of both parents” and that “marriage breakdown takes a toll on the emotional, physical and financial well-being of the entire family, and increases the public cost for human programs.”

President Trump Gives Pro-Life, Pro-Family State of the Union Address
Writing for The Federalist, Madeline Osburn says, "President Donald Trump’s joint address to Congress Tuesday evening was the most pro-life, pro-family State of the Union speech delivered by a modern president. Between the ordinary, yet excellent Americans as his guests of honor, and his imploring of Congress to pass pro-family legislation, Trump accomplished his goal of displaying an agenda that is “relentlessly pro-worker, pro- family, pro-growth, and most importantly, pro-American.”

Church Ambassador Network Urges Prayer for Legislators
Initiative of Wisconsin Family Council
Wisconsin Family Council’s (WFC) Church Ambassador Network, headed up by WFC's Church Ambassador Dave Lingle, is about connecting pastors with elected officials, not for policy or political purposes, but to create authentic, redemptive relationships with elected officials, especially state representatives and senators. In addition to asking pastors to visit their legislators in the state capitol at least once a year, the program urges them to take seriously Paul’s admonition to Timothy to pray for these legislators—and encouraging these pastors to lead their congregations in praying for them as well.
The Apostle Paul clearly exhorted Timothy to pray for, to intercede for and to give thanks for kings and all that are in authority. He explains that such prayers will help us lead quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and honesty. So the question is, are you praying for those in authority? Are you teaching the next generation by word and example, to obey God in this area?
Learn more about the core principles, rationale and purpose of WFC's Church Ambassador Network HERE. If you are a pastor or leader in your church, consider being a part of the Church Ambassador Network. Click HERE to learn more.
