Jack, I know, here I am talking about the 2024 election again, but let's face it, it is a really important election with so much riding on the outcome.
As I type this, candidates are being recruited to run for office (I just read that basketball greats Grant Hill and Dwyane Wade are being courted to run for Senate against Rick Scott in Florida) and everyday, there is an announcement of some new candidate running for office. Whether we like it or not, the 2024 election is well underway and we need to get to work.
In 2020, we recruited over 111,000 volunteers from our community of grassroots activists to help turn out the vote using innovative tools and a wide variety of proven get out the vote methods. We also raised over $14 million for candidates and progressive community groups to help register, educate and turnout voters. If we want to stop a Republican fascist takeover, we need to do better than we did in 2020.
This is the time in the election cycle that we need to start building our own structure to support Democrats running for office, up and down the ballot in every corner of the country. Instead, we are focused on our own grassroots fundraising—our largest source of funding—so we can pay our bills.
That's why I am, again, writing to you today: Two of our three sources of revenue are falling behind our projections and we are trying to make the difference with help from the Daily Kos community. Can you support Daily Kos and our work with a donation of $5?

I get it, Jack, no one really wants to start thinking about the 2024 elections, but we have to.
There is so much on the line in the upcoming election: Control of the Senate, winning back the House, possibly defeating Trump, again, and winning numerous state offices, too. We have to win in order to ensure our rights, our freedoms, and to protect our democracy.
Unfortunately, financially speaking, the last four months have been hard for Daily Kos. We have seen two out of three of our revenue sources continually miss their projections. So instead of fundraising for future candidates and grassroots organizations that mobilize voters in their communities, we have had to pour our energy into making sure that we, as an organization, can make our own ends meet.
Daily Kos sits at the crossroads of news and activism, bringing you news from a progressive point of view while also giving you the power to take immediate and effective action on what you just read. There is no other organization that does the work we do–and we need your help to keep producing the work you have come to trust.
That's why I am writing to you today, Jack: Can you support Daily Kos and our work with a donation of $5?
